Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and effective way of working with the body using light touch. Looking at the whole person, not only presenting symptoms but physical and mental health; historical and current. Changes may occur in body, mind and spirit during and after sessions.
Because treatment is so gentle and non-invasive CST is suitable for everyone from newly-born babies to the elderly. Mothers and their babies often attend for problems associated with difficult or traumatic births,
pre or post tongue-tie division, colic and reflux symptoms.
CST supports your body’s innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself, as well as helping to reduce stress and build your underlying energy. The practitioner senses tensions in the body and helps to release them in a supported and comfortable way. During or after a session you may feel calm and energised, with increased clarity of mind and a feeling of well-being. Less pain may be experienced and with greater movement than before.
CST is not intended as primary healthcare but to work alongside the relationship you have with your doctor.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) works to release fascia within the entire body.
Assessment techniques enable the practitioner to see what the body needs in the way of treatment. The symptoms point to areas in the body that need to be treated. The structure will affect function. Improve the structure such as fascia and muscle and you will improve the function such as movement of the shoulder joint or knee, for babies it maybe the latch and digestion that will improve.
CST treatments take a baby that cries incessantly one day, to calm and smiling the next, just by using a gentle touch that relaxes the body and stimulates the nervous system.
